空間格局｜兩房兩廳兩衛

鋼琴的音符在空間中輕盈流動，生活織起音樂的面紗，這個空間中住著的是一對夫妻，我們打造專屬於他們的日常居所，房子的女主人下班後便成為熟練琴弦的音樂家，時常演奏鋼琴、大提琴等古典樂器，夫妻兩人相敬如賓，這個空間中反映了他們深沈而文雅的氣質。

在這個音樂旅程的幕後，我們首先打破的是原有的格局，原本建商的3房2廳2衛的配置，房間、走道分散而狹窄，因應家中生活成員及毛小孩的需求，捨棄了1個房間，並將各個區域重新劃分配置，電視牆的位置90度翻轉之後，使得公共區域橫向敞開，落地窗景便同時構成一幅寬型畫面。隨著界線的打破，走道融入整體空間，不再侷限作為通道使用，拓寬了視野，透過有效的佈局使虛坪減少，帶來一份寬闊恬靜的感受。

我們企圖打造如同美術館的空間，利用弧線形的天花板，將音樂的節奏具象化，展現一種豪放而堅定的自信，在造型天花板下，其實藏了一支大樑，這些造型的背後有更實用的目的，設計的收與放不僅止是為了追求美觀。

「我們利用現代的建材做出仿古的感覺，一方面實現我們想要的空間氛圍，一方面又享受現代建材的優勢及便利。」以木地板為例，在過去想要安裝矩形拼花的木地板，施工時必須耗費精神地計算材料的長短以製作拼花的效果，也因為板材方向縱橫交錯，每片之間的伸縮縫若是預留的不夠，就容易有「膨共」的現象，更別提傳統實木材質容易有蟲蛀的問題。還好到了現代，隨著材料的更新，我們能用耐磨地板印刷的紋路呈現這樣的視覺，讓清潔維護更加方便，更大幅降低裝潢的費用。

最後我們再加強家具中的設計語彙，去強調古典的藝術氣息，像是奢華的大理石桌面、手工車製的造型桌腳；軟裝的部分則是搭配歷史悠久的溫莎椅、刻意過長垂地的蛇簾⋯⋯。

能完成一場的設計，也需要透過屋主的分享與交流，讓我們深入了解他們的生活方式、偏好及需求，我們透過設計探索空間的潛力，最佳化空間的可能，幫屋主定義他們的理想家。

在「VEIL OF MUSIC」的世界裡，每一個音符都是一種情感的表達，如同設計中的每一個細節都傳達我們對空間的思考及理解。「VEIL OF MUSIC」，它是一種生活的體驗、一場音樂。

The piano notes flow lightly in the space, weaving a musical veil into life. In this space resides a couple, for whom we have crafted a daily abode. The lady of the house, upon returning from work, transforms into a skilled musician, often playing classical instruments such as the piano and cello. The couple mutually respects each other like treating honored guests, and this space reflects their profound and elegant temperament.

Behind this musical journey, the first thing we did was to repartition the original layout. The initial design by the construction company included 3 bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 dining room, and 2 bathrooms, which resulted in dispersed and narrow spaces. To meet the needs of the family members and their pets, we omitted one room from the initial design. The entire layout was reconfigured, and by rotating the TV wall 90 degrees, the public area expanded horizontally, while the floor-to-ceiling windows simultaneously created a wide-screen view. Breaking the boundaries, the hallway merged into the overall space, no longer restricted as a mere aisle. This widened the field of vision, effectively reducing the void space and bringing a sense of spacious tranquility.

We aimed to create a space that is akin to an art gallery, using curved ceilings to visualize the rhythm of music, demonstrating a bold and steadfast confidence. Beneath the styled ceiling, where a large beam is concealed, the design’s arrangement serves a functional purpose beyond aesthetics .

“We use modern materials to evoke an antique feel, achieving the desired atmosphere while enjoying the advantages and convenience of contemporary building materials.” For example, when it comes to wooden flooring, in the past, installing parquet patterns required meticulous calculations of material lengths to achieve the desired effect. Additionally, due to the crisscrossing nature of the plank directions, insufficient allowance for expansion joints could lead to issues such as “buckling.” Not to mention, traditional solid wood materials are susceptible to pest infestations. Fortunately, with the advancement of materials the advancement of materials, we can now use wear-resistant floor printing to present these effects, making cleaning and maintenance more convenient and significantly reducing decoration costs.

Finally, we enhanced the design language in furniture to emphasize classical artistic vibes, incorporating luxurious marble tabletops and intricately crafted table legs. Soft furnishings include historically significant Windsor chairs and intentionally long-hanging drapes.

Completing a design requires thorough communication and sharing with the homeowners, allowing us to deeply understand their lifestyle, preferences, and needs. Through design, we explore the potential of space, optimize its possibilities, and help define the ideal home for the residents.

In the world of “VEIL OF MUSIC,” each note is an expression of emotion, much like every detail in the design conveys our thoughts and understanding of space. “VEIL OF MUSIC” is an experience, a musical journey in life.
